Kling 3.0 Turbo is the fast tier of Kling, but not the cheap one: per second it costs more than regular Kling 3.0, even when you switch audio on in the latter. You get fewer features (no audio, no 4K, no last frame) and pay for speed. For most work I would use regular Kling 3.0 and keep Turbo for cases where waiting time matters more than cost.

Key differences

  • Audio. Kling 3.0 generates dialogue with lip sync and ambience on request. Kling 3.0 Turbo makes silent clips.
  • Resolution. Kling 3.0: 720p, 1080p, 4K (default 1080p). Turbo: 720p and 1080p (default 720p).
  • Frames. Kling 3.0 takes a first and last frame plus 2 reference images. Turbo takes a first frame only.
  • Prompt. Turbo accepts up to 3,072 characters (2,500 recommended), Kling 3.0 up to 2,500. In Turbo you describe multiple shots inside the prompt.
  • Shared. Length 3-15 s and ratios 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 (with a photo, the image's ratio applies).

When to pick Kling 3.0

  • Almost always when cost matters: it is cheaper per second at both shared resolutions.
  • Clips with dialogue or ambient sound.
  • 4K shots.
  • Transitions between a first and last frame.

When to pick Kling 3.0 Turbo

  • When waiting for results blocks your work; the vendor positions Turbo as the fast tier.
  • Silent B-roll under a voice-over or music added in the edit.
  • Animating a product photo from a first frame, no sound needed.
  • A multi-shot prompt longer than 2,500 characters.

Cost in practice

This is the key part of the pair. At 720p Turbo costs about 1.6 times as much per second as silent Kling 3.0 and about 14% more than Kling 3.0 with audio. At 1080p it is similar: about 1.6 times silent Kling and about 6% more than Kling with audio. Turbo has no surcharges since it has no audio, while Kling 3.0 adds roughly 43-50% for audio at 720p and 1080p. Watch the defaults: Turbo starts at 720p and 5 s, Kling 3.0 at 1080p and 6 s, so compare at identical settings. Rates: from $0.169 per second (1080p, silent) and from $0.277 per second (720p); everything on /pricing.

I will not give speed numbers: I have not measured both variants under the same conditions. I tested Turbo on another provider in my video ranking (Polish blog), where it made a hard cut instead of the slow camera push-in the prompt asked for. More on both: Kling 3.0 API pricing.
